A Language of Their Own

Foltin is a music group from Bitola, founded in 1995, that for three decades has been one of the most authentic and creative bands on the Macedonian alternative scene. They are recognized for their unique artistic language that merges music, stage performance, and text into an original expression that is difficult to define by genre.

Their sound combines elements of traditional music, rock, jazz, electronics, and improvisation, often described as “pseudo-immigrant cabaret.” In their early period, the lyrics were based on an original concept called “spontaneous Esperanto” - a phonetic play with Mediterranean languages in which words function as rhythm, color, and atmosphere.

Thirty Years in Motion

With the introduction of lyrics in the Macedonian language, Foltin opened a new creative chapter with a more intimate and narrative approach, while maintaining their recognizable cabaret aesthetic and stage energy. Their concerts are carefully crafted performances that combine music, movement, and humor into a powerful audiovisual experience.

The band has released several studio albums, performed at numerous festivals and venues across the region and Europe, and created music for more than 30 theater productions, as well as for the films Secret Ingredient, Honeyland, Cash and Marry, Avec L’amour.and many more.
